November 27, 2012 – Mindful Meats is pleased to offer the first and, currently, only Non-GMO Project Verified beef products in the United States. Based in Northern California, Mindful Meats works with a small group of organic, pasture-based farmers from Marin and Sonoma counties to bring beef cuts to grocery stores and restaurants.
It is Mindful Meats’ mission to increase consumer access to pasture-raised and organically produced beef. In addition to being CCOF certified organic, being Non-GMO Project Verified ensures that they bring truly organic beef to those who want it.
Mindful Meats was founded by Claire Herminjard and Stephen Goldmann in early 2011. The founders are committed to building the supply chain of food produced without genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
