Back to Nature Foods Reaches a Key Milestone in Obtaining Non-GMO Product Verification Across Multiple Product Categories
Back to Nature Foods Company, a foods industry leader for more than 50 years, today announced that over 70 products have obtained Non-GMO Project Verification since it began the process in January 2015. Back to Nature’s Non-GMO Project Verified products are produced in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard. The Non-GMO Project Standard provides ongoing verification for all ingredients used in our formulas, as well as facility inspections and annual audits to ensure that the highest possible standards for GMO avoidance are met.
Approximately 300 ingredients were carefully sourced and tested to ensure that all non-GMO Back to Nature products, which now carry the Non-GMO Project Verified Seal on their packaging, deliver on the brand’s promise to provide great-tasting foods that are flavorful and simply delicious.
“We’re so excited to reach this very important milestone in our brand’s history. We know how important it is for our consumers to know how their food is sourced and we want them to feel confident about the ingredients in our products,” said Vincent Fantegrossi, President and Chief Executive Officer, Back to Nature Foods Company. “That’s why we’re committed to transparent ingredient sourcing and working towards obtaining Non-GMO Project Verification for all of our products by the end of 2016.”
“Back to Nature truly appreciates consumers’ increasing desire to understand and trust what they eat, and it is an important accomplishment for the company to have over 70 of its products obtain the Non-GMO Project Verification Mark,” said Megan Westgate, Executive Director of the Non-GMO Project. “From cookies to crackers, nuts and cereal, Back to Nature is giving consumers a variety of choices in delicious non-GMO foods and we commend the company for its commitment and initiative.”
